Multiple markers, no blank pages, accurate signature preview, signing-workflow fixes

  • ●Step 2 with several markers: “Delete from marker to end” takes a table of marker texts (for example the same heading with and without diacritics); everything from the first one found is deleted. Upper/lower case is ignored.
  • ●No blank page before the signature page: Empty paragraphs and page breaks at the end of a document are removed before the .docx signature page is appended. When the text ended near the bottom of a page, they used to create an empty page just before the signatures.
  • ●Clear warning without Step 1: Starting the preparation with Step 1 unchecked when docx_step1/ does not exist shows a warning and does not start; missing folders during a run are logged as warnings, not errors.
  • ●Visual signature and preview: In low signature boxes the text was shrunk by hidden inner margins (about 7 pt in a 26 pt box); it now uses the available space and starts right after the logo. The placement preview uses exactly the same layout as the signed document.
  • ●Signing workflow folder: The workflow’s shared folder follows the main folder chosen in Prepare; changing the shared folder loads its workflow or closes one that belongs to another folder; launching asks for confirmation before overwriting a workflow that is already launched; “Sign the documents first” shows the folder where the signed PDFs are expected.
  • ●Editing the signer table: Up/down moves a signer on every click (the selection used to be lost after the first move); the initiator row can be deleted and edited; coordinators stay below the signers; a signer marked as signed by hand gets a signing date, so the next signer receives the right step folder; saved signature coordinates are kept exactly when a workflow is loaded or imported.

Sequential Word conversion, workers by converter, Windows display scaling

  • ●Microsoft Word conversion, one document at a time: Word handles only one conversion at a time; with several parallel workers, conversions failed (“remote procedure call failed”, “couldn’t find your file”) and the app could close. Conversion with Word now runs sequentially whatever the number of workers, and the console says why. The other preparation steps stay parallel.
  • ●Parallel workers set from the installed converter: With LibreOffice the field gets the recommended value (half of the maximum for your computer) and conversion runs in parallel; with Microsoft Word only, it gets 1; with no converter installed, it gets 0 and the text explains why. A value you change yourself is kept.
  • ●Signature border 0 kept: A border of 0 (no border) was reset to 1 when a signer profile was loaded again; it is now kept.
  • ●Windows display scaling (125–150%): The window always fits the screen and opens fully visible; when the menu does not fit, it hides the Aria picture and then compacts its buttons, so the Aria status line and the version stay visible; menu labels are no longer cut. The empty space under “Parallel workers” in Word mode is gone and the recommendation text wraps to the window width.
  • ●Folder Watch at launch: When Folder Watch starts automatically and its folder or SEAL is not configured on this computer, the message goes to the Server status and the Console instead of a blocking dialog over the app. Starting Watch manually still shows the dialog.
  • ●Signing workflow: Reordering signers keeps each signer’s name in the output folder name (it was replaced with underscores).

Find and replace in document preparation, compact Prepare page

  • ●Step 3 — Replace text: A table of “Find” / “Replace with” pairs, each with its own case-sensitive option; “+” adds a row, “✕” removes it. The pairs are applied in order to every .docx: body text, tables, text boxes, headers and footers, including text split across different formatting (the new text keeps the formatting of the start of the found text). An empty “Replace with” deletes the text. Documents without a match are copied unchanged, and the console shows how many replacements were made in each file.
  • ●Steps renumbered: The following steps are now 4–8. The .docx folders follow the step numbers: docx_step3 (replace), docx_step4 (delete last pages), docx_step5 (append page); pdf, pdf_step1 and pdf_step2 are unchanged. Each .docx step reads the output of the last step checked in the same run. For folders prepared with an earlier version, start from a clean folder or delete the old docx_step* folders.
  • ●Compact Prepare page: “Document flow .docx → PDF” and “PDF document flow” are collapsible sections (opening one closes the other); a closed section lists its checked steps in the header. The options of unchecked steps are hidden, so Start and Stop are visible without scrolling.

Workflow profiles, consolidated audit, console history and Linux display fixes

  • ●Signer profiles kept when launching a workflow: Launching a workflow rebuilt the steps from the table and reset each signer’s profile (reason, location, displayed fields, position, logo, token or certificate). Profiles imported with “Import workflow from another folder” or saved in the draft now carry over to the launched workflow; new signers start with default values. If you cancel the launch e-mail, the draft is restored instead of deleted.
  • ●Consolidated audit for the whole workflow: When the last signer finishes, one audit file for all signers (with a “Step” column) is saved in the final folder next to the signed documents. The copy of the last signer’s audit is no longer duplicated there; it stays in that signer’s own folder.
  • ●PIN handling: Switching to the next signer no longer clears the PIN. It is cleared only when detection finds a different token or when you change the PKCS#11 library, and the PIN status text (“PIN verified”, wrong PIN, locked) is cleared together with it.
  • ●Console history: The console is saved to ~/.xignall/console_history.log (last 5,000 lines) and reloaded at startup. “Clear log” asks for confirmation and also deletes the saved history.
  • ●Mixed .doc and .docx in Prepare: Step 1 now also takes the .docx files found next to the .doc files and copies them unchanged, so a mixed folder ends up complete in the next step.
  • ●Linux: The five Server and Certificates menu entries now have icons; symbols the Linux display font cannot draw (check marks, warning signs, arrows, emoji) are replaced with plain equivalents instead of showing \uXXXX or empty boxes; the menu is wider so long labels no longer cut the icons.
  • ●Quieter terminal: MuPDF messages about damaged structure tags in some LibreOffice-generated PDFs (“No common ancestor in structure tree”) are no longer printed. Rendering and signing are unaffected.

Timings, worker recommendation, automatic audit and logs

  • ●Timings in the Prepare console: every file shows how long it took and when it finished within its step; each step ends with a summary (duration, documents per minute, average and maximum per file), and a “Timings per step” table closes the run.
  • ●Worker recommendation: XignAll scans your computer (CPU threads, RAM) and recommends how many parallel workers to use — a recommended value that keeps the computer usable, and a maximum for the fastest processing with other applications closed — with one-click Apply buttons. The Free edition uses one process; with Microsoft Word only one process is possible.
  • ●Parallel workers on Windows: the help text now reflects what was measured: with LibreOffice, parallel conversion works on Windows too (4 workers were about 2.4× faster than 1 on a 2-core / 4-thread processor).
  • ●Automatic saving: Changes to the signer profile (reason, location, logo, displayed fields, position and size, certificate and token library) are saved by themselves a moment after you make them, and application settings (folders, language) are saved immediately instead of only when the window is closed. The “Save” button still works.
  • ●Crash diagnostics: If the application ever stops unexpectedly, a technical log (xignall_native_crash.log) is kept and XignAll tells you at the next start. The Prepare log is written line by line, so it survives a crash.
  • ●Export log: Exporting the console log no longer opens the file manager.
  • ●Automatic audit file: At the end of every signing session (also when it is stopped, the disk is full or an error occurs) XignAll writes audit_semnare_<date_time>.csv in the output folder: start/end, duration, status, signer, token library, TSA, source and destination folders, and one line per file with status, error and duration. Column labels follow the interface language (10 languages). No PIN or token serial number is written.
  • ●Automatic Prepare log: The Prepare console is saved as log_pregatire_<date_time>.txt in the main folder, with version, folder, workers, converter and hardware summary.
  • ●Startup stability: Some token libraries (for example IDEMIA) can crash when scanned inside the application. XignAll no longer scans them automatically at startup; they are detected when you press “Detect”.
  • ●Signing threads (optional, experimental): A new “Signing threads” field (1–4, default 1) lets several files be prepared while the token signs; the token still receives one request at a time. Leave it at 1 unless you want to test it with your token.

Optional error reports, signature preview and bulk-signing fixes

  • ●Optional error reports: When a technical error occurs, XignAll can offer to send a report to the XignAll team. Nothing is sent without your consent: you see the exact content first, or you can tick “Send error reports automatically” in the Aria window (off by default). Reports contain only technical data — file paths, document names and certificate holder names are removed, and no documents, PINs or token serial numbers are included.
  • ●Rewards: Token contributions are approved automatically and instantly. To prevent abuse, one reward is issued per computer and per network, and a token already in the library is not rewarded twice.
  • ●Aria in the app: The sidebar shows whether Aria is online and the Aria window opens on top of the application on Windows.
  • ●Signature preview: The position dialog shows a simulation of the visible signature with your own data (name from the token or certificate, reason, location, logo). Opening the preview repeatedly reuses a single window, and the PDF is released as soon as it closes.
  • ●Locked PDFs during bulk signing: Files are released as soon as each one is processed, so they can be moved or deleted while a batch is running.
  • ●Smaller signed PDFs: A large logo is now downscaled to its visible size instead of being embedded in full in every signature.
  • ●Server Edition: Import a workflow from another shared folder; processing failures are written to the journal and can be reported with your consent.
  • ●Token detected at startup: XignAll looks for your USB token in the background when it starts, so it is already found when you open Digital signature.
  • ●Workflow imported from another computer: Opening a workflow created on another computer or operating system now uses the folder you opened it from, and logo, certificate and token-library paths that do not exist on this computer are no longer applied.
  • ●Hidden files ignored: Files starting with a dot (for example macOS “._” copies created on USB or network drives) are no longer treated as PDFs by the PDF tools, workflows and Server Edition.
  • ●Help and FAQ: New entry for Acrobat freezing while a large batch is signed with a USB token (Acrobat → Preferences → Signatures → Verification → turn off “Verify signatures when the document is opened”).
  • ●Folder / File selection: The inactive option is greyed out, and the signer list no longer drops valid entries.

Token signing fixes and disk-space protection

  • ●Tokens with a duplicated certificate: Signing no longer fails with “Found more than one certificate with label” when a USB token stores the same certificate twice. The signing certificate is selected explicitly.
  • ●Faulty token drivers: A token driver that crashes during detection can no longer close the application.
  • ●Bulk signing and disk space: XignAll warns before starting if the output folder may not have enough free space. If the disk fills up during a run, signing pauses and asks you to free space and retry, instead of failing the remaining files.
  • ●Clear message when there is nothing to sign: An empty file or folder selection now shows a message instead of doing nothing.
  • ●Aria feedback: Bug reports and suggestions are confirmed only when the server actually accepted them.
  • ●Server Edition: Internet interruptions (for example changing Wi-Fi) no longer flood the terminal, and the connection indicator recovers when the connection returns.
